My friend, Danny, is probably not going to be thrilled by this post because he’s trying to cop a pair of these limited kicks for himself this coming Friday (so if you are planning to get to it before he can, please stop reading now). Featuring a salmon-colored (aka Rose Gold) suede upper, grey with baby blue accents on the stripes, and the classically clean looks of the GT-II, this collaboration between Ronnie Fieg and Asics is an understated but desirable shoe that’s not to be missed. Despite the somewhat uncommon colorway, it can be easily worn as a modern neutral to replace my usual greys, blacks, and browns. They go on sale this Friday at the Brooklyn and Manhattan locations. For those of you not in NYC, you can also get them at KITH online (link here) for $130/pair.

I was all about those Pendleton collabos for awhile, and then everyone started doing them so I sort of lost interest. But!! These varsity jackets from Kith + Pendleton are making me fall back in love with the brand’s famous navajo-inspired wool prints again. I love the timeless varsity jacket shape, the leather sleeves, and pairing of the prints in the front. A total of 4 styles are available. My favorite of the four is the kilim green edition (featured above). Great color combos, and the dark brown leather is fantastic for winter. See the rest of them on the KITH site (here).
Not the most accessible bag (available exclusively on ZOZOTOWN, the Japanese retail giant), but great for inspiration nonetheless. I really like backpacks for guys, but it’s usually harder than expected to find one that’s modern/urban and not too bulky. I’ve always been a huge fan of Harris Tweed collabos, and this bag with Master-Piece is no different. The “sling” feels more stylish than a traditional backpack and is also nicely compact, which makes it more appropriate for daily use. Each bag is finished with premium suede and leather. Also features a front zip pocket and side pocket in back for easy access.

Classic white canvas Chucks rank as one of my all time favorite shoes for guys. They are simple, functional shoes that look great with jeans, khakis, shorts, you name it. From this classic, Converse has teamed up with Barney’s to create an exclusive perforated leather version just in time for summer. At $125 each, they are offered in black and red, but the white version (pictured above) are the ones I would snatch up. If you’re looking something a bit cheaper, these Converse also offers a slimmed down version on their site that I absolutely LOVE. $50 for the canvas version here and only $15 more for the leather version (!) here.
I’m in love with these boots from VANE for Sebago. They feature a silhouette and rugged, outdoors-y style that has been very popular this season with all sorts of shoe makers, but this pair stands out in particular for its olive/gray color way. It’s a nice change from the more popular brown/khaki color combo while still providing a neutral palette for the perfect compliment to many different ensembles. The handsewn double quarter boot features waxed full grain leather uppers and high ballistic cordura outer quarters. They look equally nice worn up or flipped down, as shown in the photo. Definitely on my must-have list for this winter.
This collaboration between Patagonia and Beams is another successful illustration of how the great outdoors can come together with contemporary styles to create apparel that is both extremely functional and fashion-conscious. I’m particularly liking the jacket on the far right.
My very first pair of name brand sneakers were a pair of Reeboks. They featured grey suede, pink nylon, and a lot of sparkly laces. This was back in the 80′s, and since then, I’ve always had a soft spot for this brand. These revamped outdoor boots, introduced just in time for the winter season, features gray suede and royal blue nylon uppers. My favorite part is the Bodega tongue tag, which adds an extra pinch of pow. I’m thrilled to see this collabo with Bodega and hope that Reebok will continue pushing in this direction.

My heart has literally expanded to double its original size, so much is my love for these shoes. Simply beautiful pieces of work with the contrast stitching, smooth brown leather, and of course, my beloved Pendleton wool. They are currently on sale at Bows & Arrows, although at last check, the hi-tops were sold out. Do not despair, however, here is a list of other Vans Vault retailers where you may be able to find a pair.
Given that I’m nearsighted as a girl, I won’t count on being blessed with 20/20 vision as a guy. Glasses can add character and interest though so I’m not too bummed. Warby Parker produces some fantastic vintage-inspired frames for very affordable prices, and I can’t say enough great things about this brand and what they stand for. Super excited about this collaboration with Steve Alan. Clear frames look good on pretty much everyone too. At $95 a pair with lens and shipping included, this is one good looking deal.
